A driver is facing a string of charges after Louisiana State Police stopped him for allegedly driving 87 miles per hour OVER the speed limit.
Troopers booked Kevin Camacho.
"Camacho was driving a 2021 Dodge Charger at 147 mph in a posted 60 mph zone," according to Trooper Shelby Mayfield.
She says Camacho was speeding down I-10 near Essen Lane in Baton Rouge shortly before midnight on June 2, 2026.
"Troopers observed signs of impairment and initiated a DWI investigation. While conducting the investigation, Troopers detected the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle and conducted a search."
Mayfield says the found a loaded handgun, a digital scale, about 80 grams of marijuana, THC vape products, and drug paraphernalia.
"Camacho was arrested and booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison for Reckless Operation, Driving While Intoxicated (First Offense), Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana, Possession of a Firearm in the Presence of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia."
