Louisiana is forecast to get rain from a disturbance in the Gulf.
The national hurricane center gives the system a low 30 percent chance of developing into a tropical depression or storm, but it is forecast to generate some moisture as it pushes ashore.
"Low pressure south of the mouth of the Mississippi River is producing scattered showers and a few thunderstorms," the Hurricane Center posted. "Some slow development of this system is possible during the next few days."
While development chances are low, there are some forecast impacts.
"Regardless of development, mariners over the northern Gulf waters can expect thunderstorms with gusty winds and locally higher seas over the next few days."
WWL TV Meteorologist Brooke Laizer says some rain could move over land.
"This could bring more scattered rain and storms to Southeast LA and South MS on Sunday and Monday. Storms will still be hit-or-miss but storms could produce strong wind gusts, frequent lighting, and heavy rain. Localized flooding is possible."
It has been a relatively quiet hurricane season. There have only been four named storms thus far, however the peak of the season is less than two weeks away.
