The New Orleans Police Department announced they made two arrests in Tuesday’s downtown shooting.

Detectives arrested Jerry Rodriguez, 19, and Olivia Turner, 20, in the investigation of a shooting that happened on Oct. 5, at the intersection of Commerce and Girod streets. Police arrested the pair on Friday.

An NOPD report says, “At about 11:30 p.m. on October 5, two adult victims – a male and a female – reportedly heard gunfire and realized they had been struck. The male victim had sustained gunshot wounds to the legs and arrived at a local hospital via private conveyance, while the female victim sustained a gunshot wound to the foot and arrived at a local hospital via EMS.”

Through the investigation, NOPD detectives identified both Rodriguez and Turner as suspects in this incident.

The two were arrested and booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center.

Rodriguez was booked on two counts of aggravated second-degree battery, while Turner was booked on two counts of principal to aggravated second-degree battery.
