The New Orleans Police Department is investigating two carjackings and an armed robbery in three separate across the city.
The first carjacking happened at about 11:36 a.m. on Sunday at the intersection of North Rocheblave Street and Independence Street.
Police say a woman was inside her vehicle when a man police identify as Michael Cole, opened her car door and demanded she gets out.
Police say the woman’s family members saw the incident and helped by holding the suspect down until officers arrived. Cole was arrested by officers.
Then early Monday morning at about 1:13 a.m. a man was carjacked by two men in the 2700 block of Marais Street.
The victim was parking his vehicle when armed suspects approached and demanded the victim get out of his vehicle.
The man complied and the suspects fled in the victim’s burgundy 2009 Dodge Journey with an unknown temp tag.
Then a man and woman were robbed by two men armed with guns.
It happened at about 1:33 a.m. in the 4400 block of North Rampart Street. Police say the suspects approached the victims and demanded their property at gunpoint. The victims complied but one suspect struck one of the victims in the face with a hand and then fled the scene.
