Cops say a car and a motorized dirt bike collided Tuesday night.
"The NOPD is investigating a fatal traffic crash that occurred on the evening of September 19, 2023, in the 400 block of South Claiborne Avenue that left two people dead," according to a news release.
It happened just after 10:00pm.
"The driver of a Honda Accord sedan was traveling in the left eastbound lane on South Claiborne Avenue and attempted to turn left onto Gravier Street. At the same time, a motorized dirt bike occupied by two adult males is believed to have driven to the outside of the same lane to pass the Accord when the vehicles collided in the intersection."
Both people on the motorcycle were thrown off the bike.
"One of the victims was pronounced deceased on scene, while the second was transported to a local hospital and later declared deceased there."
The investigation continues.
