In Livingston Parish a 39-year-old man is under arrest, facing charges of attempted kidnapping.

It began around 5pm Friday with suspect Albert Lavigne, Jr. allegedly kidnapping two juvenile females at gun point.

As the suspect traveled from Livingston Parish into Tangipahoa Parish, the suspect’s vehicle was involved in a single vehicle crash.

Following the crash, the suspect - as well as the victims - were transported to the hospital for injuries related to the accident.

Sheriff Jason Ard said Lavigne was taken into custody by Tangipahoa Parish Sheriffs as a fugitive from Livingston Parish.

Lavigne is awaiting transport to the Livingston Parish Detention Center to be booked on the outstanding warrants.

At this point in the investigation, Lavigne will face 2 counts of Second Degree Kidnapping.”

Sheriff Ard says the investigation into the attempted kidnapping is still underway.
