Cops say there was a shooting around 6:00pm Thursday night in New Orleans' Seventh Ward.
Police posted on Twitter, "The NOPD is investigating a shooting that occurred in the 1600 block of Elysian Fields Ave."
Investigators say initial reports indicated one male victim was shot in his "lower extremities."
There was "a second male victim with possible shrapnel wounds."
Both victims were transported to the hospital.
It comes amid a 66% increase in shootings in New Orleans over the first half of the year, according to the New Orleans City Council Criminal Justice Committee Crime Dashboard.
