The string of violence over the long Christmas weekend didn't let up Christmas night in New Orleans.
A child was one of the victims.
"The NOPD is investigating a shooting in the 6600 block of Virgilian Street," Kaitlin Rust Landry in the NOPD Public Affairs Division notified the media. "Initial information shows a juvenile with a gunshot wound was brought to a local hospital by private conveyance."
She says that was shortly before 8:00pm.
No further information was release.
A little more than an hour later, gunfire rang out again.
"The NOPD is investigating a shooting in the 4400 block of Duplessis Street," Landry emailed.
She said that a male victim suffered a gunshot wound.
"The call came in at 9:11 p.m. No additional information is currently available."
This followed the murder of a woman at Canal Street and Exchange Place Christmas Eve night after at least six other shootings in the city in the previous 24 hour period.
