Two teens arrested for two armed robberies, carjacking minutes apart says NOPD

Police in New Orleans are investigating two armed robberies and a carjacking that happened in New Orleans East just minutes apart from one another.

According to an NOPD report, a male juvenile and a female juvenile were apprehended Halloween morning for the string of crimes.


Police say both armed robberies happened Sunday morning. The first happened at 11:14 am 8600 block Curran Blvd.

According to police, the victim was approached by an unknown vehicle. The male juvenile suspect pointed a firearm at the juvenile victim and demanded their personal property.
The victim complied and the suspects fled the scene.

Three minutes later, police received a call of two people who pointed a gun at a man and demanded his car. It happened in the 7400 block of Read Boulevard in New Orleans East.

The suspects took the victim’s keys and cell phone and then fled on foot after they could not operate the victim’s vehicle according to the report.

Then 11 minutes later, police got another call of a carjacking in the 10900 block of South I-10 Service Road.

Police say the victim was approached by unknown vehicle. The suspects in the vehicle demanded the 38-year-old male victim’s keys. The man complied and the suspects fled in victim’s vehicle.

The male juvenile and juvenile female suspects were later apprehended by police. Police believe the pair of juveniles are responsible for all three crimes and are investigating the incidents as related.
