Two men are in hospitals this morning after two separate shootings in New Orleans early Wednesday morning, continuing what has been a violent five-day stretch in New Orleans.
According to a New Orleans Police Department spokesperson, the first shooting happened around 1:30 a.m. near the intersection of South Dorgenois and General Taylor in Broadmoor. Investigators say the victim in that shooting suffered a body wound. An EMS crew took the victim to a hospital.
The second shooting happened about 20 minutes later in the Central Business District. Police were called to Howard Avenue at Harmony Circle. When they arrived, officers found a man who had been shot once. An EMS crew took the victim to a hospital.
Police did not disclose the victims' conditions.
Since Saturday, the NOPD has worked more than a dozen shootings, two of which were deadly.
