While Congress dickers over whether to pass $60 billion in aid to Ukraine, a guest of WWL's Newell Normand's show said it's in our best interest to help the beleaguered country.
"Ukraine without aid is at risk of losing," said Arnie Fielkow, former CEO of the Jewish Federation of Greater New Orleans.
The games being played around the funding are ridiculous, Fielkow said. If Ukraine falls to Russia it'll be bad for Europe and eventually bad for the United States.
Vladimir Putin is a war criminal and he won't stop with Ukraine, Fielkow said. "We don't want any of that," he added. "What we want is to give the ability for Ukraine to be strong .. and finally end this thing."
31,000 Ukrainians have died so far, including lawyers, doctors and teachers who rushed out to defend their country. And it's time for Congress to approve aid, he added.
