The reward for information in the murder of NOPD detective Everett Briscoe has increased to $100,000.
The reward increase is made possible through money donated by Crimestoppers Houston and New Orleans, ATF, Houston mayor, and a Houston business owner.
“Today, we are announcing a total reward of $40,000 for information leading to the killers. Five thousand is coming from Crimestoppers, I am adding five thousand to this amount, 20 thousand from Crimestoppers of Greater New Orleans, 10 thousand from ATF Houston,” said Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner in a press conference.
“You know who you are,” Turner said. “Somebody out there knows who you are. I just want to be very clear. We’ll find you.”
Tilman Fertitta, the owner of Grotto Ristorante where Briscoe and Zulu member Dyrin Riculfy were gunned down, contributed his money to up the reward to $100,000.
Briscoe’s body was transported back to New Orleans today by a Houston funeral home. Riculfy is in critical condition at a Houston area hospital.
NOPD Chief Shaun Ferguson says Briscoe will lie-in-state at Friday at Mahalia Jackson Theater and his services will be at Xavier Universities’ Convocation Center on Saturday.
“This city needs some healing, this family needs some healing, Zulu needs some healing, this department needs some healing. So help us bring some closure to this,” Chief Ferguson pleaded.
