Data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention show Louisiana is among eight other states with the lowest percentage of eligible people who have received at least one COVID-19 vaccine shot.
The state with the lowest percentage of vaccinations is Mississippi with 30.2% of its eligible population. Alabama is second with 31.6% and Louisiana is third with 31.9% or 1,483, 708 people who have received at least one dose.
Georgia, Tennessee, Arkansas, Wyoming, and Idaho round out the list of states with the lowest vaccination percentage in the U.S.
