Warm weather today ahead of storms and cold front tomorrow

Weather
NWS

High temperatures today climb to near 80 degrees.

"Your Wednesday will be another warm and slightly muggy day," WWL TV Meteorologist Payton Malone forecasts. "A few showers are possible, but like yesterday should remain light. This evening for parades temperatures stay in the low 70s with patchy fog."

He says tomorrow night's parades could get messy with a cold front pushing through.

"The timing of the front is key. It doesn't appear to be a wash-out, but the threat for any strong to severe storms may be key. If the front can move through early in the afternoon, even with some lingering rain behind the front, the severe threat would be gone for the parades!"

Malone says after that, we clear out and cool down.

"The front clears and brings back chilly weather for Friday and Saturday."

The Northshore could see a light freeze Saturday morning.

"Lundi Gras and Mardi Gras appear dry, but warmer and more humid, especially Fat Tuesday."
