On Thursday, New Orleans City Council members, Mayor LaToya Cantrell and community leaders gathered on the neutral ground on the corner of Drexel and the former Jefferson Davis Parkway to cut the ribbon on the newly-renamed Norman C. Francis Parkway.
The renaming came after the city leaders decided to rename several New Orleans roads named after confederate soldiers and leaders.
