Water outage for parts of St. John Parish

Crews are turning off the water to Reserve, Garyville and Mt. Airy late Sunday night into early Monday morning.

"Utilities will administer emergency water line repairs tonight and as a result a water outage will take place beginning at 11:00 p.m. in Reserve, Garyville and Mt. Airy," St. John officials said in a news release.


They estimate the water outage will last three to four hours.

"When water is restored, as a precaution, all customers in Reserve, Garyville and Mt. Airy will be under a Boil Water Advisory until further notice. This Boil Water Advisory is to remain in effect until lifted by the Louisiana Department of Health, estimated to be within 48 hours."

The news release also that means all water customers in Reserve, Garyville & Mt. Airy should boil their water for one full minute before consuming it or using it for food preparation.

"You will be notified when the Boil Water Advisory is lifted. Thank you for your patience."
