St. John the Baptist Parish public works crews completed repairs to a broken water line and water is slowly returning to normal in LaPlace.
Parish officials say the water line broke happened about 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
LaPlace water customers remain under a Boil Water Advisory until lifted by the Department of Health, which is estimated to be within 48 hours.
It is recommended that all consumers sterilize their water before consuming it or using it for food preparation by boiling water for one full minute. The one minute starts after the water has been brought to a rolling boil.
