The threat of inclement weather on Sunday is forcing a Jefferson Parish krewe to move its parade to Lundi Gras.
According to Jefferson Parish officials, the Krewe of Athena will now parade on Monday night immediately after the Krewe of Centurions procession. Athena was originally scheduled to parade on Sunday night. However, weather forecasts call for a 70-percent chance of scattered showers and storms on Sunday, with the heaviest of those showers and storms pushing into the area Sunday afternoon and evening.
The Krewe of Centurions Parade will now begin at 6 p.m. Monday in order to accommodate the Athena parade. Both parades will follow the Metairie route from Bonnabel to Clearview.
