Aquarium officials are asking for help naming one of the youngest members of the Audubon family.

"He is the newest African penguin chick at Audubon Aquarium and he needs a name!" Vice President of Communications Melissa Lee said in a news release. "He is fuzzy, gray, and critically endangered."

She says visitors to the Aquarium’s website can help select his name and donate to Audubon’s conservation efforts at the same time.

Does he look like “Dipper,” “Pluto,” or “Jupiter”?

"In keeping with the celestial names given to his siblings, his care team came up with these options for him."

Lee says, "The chick is the most recent offspring of Hubig and Ocio, a prolific penguin pair who have several past chicks currently residing in the Aquarium’s colony, including Moon, Titan, and Calypso."

The new penguin is being hand-raised by the animal care team to help him get used to human interaction.

"This will allow him to participate in his health care throughout his life."

He can currently be seen in the Aquarium’s Care Corner.

"He is often spotted snuggling with his plush penguin companion. When he is larger and able to swim, he will join the rest of the Aquarium’s penguin colony."

The winning name will be announced on April 28, 2026.
