
Marjorie “Patsy” Rita Naquin Richardson, 100, of Gonzalez, La., passed away Monday. She leaves behind her husband of 81 years, World War II veteran Gail Woodrow Richardson, 102.

This year, the Louisiana Family Forum, a “pro-life and pro-family” organization, named the Richardsons the longest married couple in the state.
According to her obituary, Patsy spent most of her adult life in Baton Rouge, La.
She was a Cub Scout pack leader, a 58-year member of Catholic Daughters of America, a volunteer at St. Gerard Majella, and a member of St. Mark Catholic Church. Even though Patsy was a devoted Catholic, her husband remained a Baptist. While she went to St. Mark, Gail attends First Baptist.
“Patsy says people told them they would never make it, but here they are, still together after 81 years,” said the Louisiana Family Forum. “She says that they’ve always respected one another’s faith and it has never caused problems. Communication is key, according to Patsy.”
Along with her husband, Patsy loved to camp. They traveled to all 50 states and liked to visit historical sites.
Patsy and Gail lost one child, a daughter. She is survived by Gail, two sons, 14 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren six great-great-grandchildren and other family members as well as friends. She is interred at Greenoaks Memorial Park Cemetery.
