A 58-year-old woman injured when the car she was careened into a canal in Kenner last week has died.
A second woman pulled from the wreck is in stable condition. Authorities have not identified the 60-year-old.
According to NOLA.com, the 58-year-old, identified as Daffney Davis, was driving a Honda Accord on Chateau Blvd. and crashed through a metal gate near Ronson Dr. and ended up in the canal.
First reponders quickly pulled the 60-year-old from the water, but Davis was trapped in the vehicle for several minutes while rescuers worked to free her from her seat belt.
The crash remains under investigation.
