A woman is dead after New Orleans police say she was struck by a car in New Orleans East that drove away from the scene.
The hit-and-run crash happened around 8:40 p.m. Saturday on the I-10 Service Road near Crowder Boulevard.
According to an NOPD spokesperson, police found the victim lying at the scene when they arrived. An EMS crew pronounced her dead at the scene. Police are trying to find out what type of vehicle struck the woman.
