A woman leads New Orleans police on a chase after allegedly shooting a man and injuring a woman during the chase.
“Around 7:13 p.m. Fifth District officers responded to a call reporting shots fired near the intersection of North Prieur Street and Touro Street. Upon arrival, officers observed the suspect fleeing from the scene in a vehicle,” says an NOPD report.
The responding officer pursued the woman until the chase ended at the intersection of North Broad Street and Esplanade Avenue where the woman was taken into custody by police.
Police say a short time later an adult male victim arrived at a local hospital suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.
A second victim, an adult female arrived at a different local hospital suffering from injuries consistent with being struck by a vehicle.
Police say a second vehicle involved in the incident was recovered in the 1900 block of North Rocheblave Street.
The investigation into this incident remains open and very active as investigators work to gather evidence.
