A 41-year-old woman is accused of killing another woman in Jefferson Parish, in an early-morning shooting Saturday in Crown Point.
The sheriff's office says Sarah Duffy was part of a group of people who met up in the 5200 block of Sharpe Road around 5 a.m. for a fishing trip, when she got into a fight.
Deputies say the fight stopped, then the two women started fighting again inside Duffy's vehicle.
According to investigators, Duffy grabbed a handgun, then the two fought over the gun, and it was fired twice.
The victim was hit in the head and died, and Duffy was shot in the leg.
The sheriff's office booked Duffy on one count of manslaughter when she got out of the hospital.
