A woman is dead and NOPD is investigating a homicide that occurred this evening in on Saint Anthony Street between Law and Dorgenois Streets.
At about 7:49 p.m., NOPD Fifth District officers responded to a call of shots fired at the location.
Upon arrival, officers discovered an adult female inside of a vehicle and having sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
The victim was declared deceased at the scene, at which time the incident was reclassified as a homicide.
Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identity the person(s) responsible for this incident, as well as a motive. No additional details are currently available.
