A Kenner woman now faces murder charges after authorities discover her cousin, whose body was recovered from a drainage canal, died of a drug overdose.

According to the Kenner Police Department, Linh Wallace was charged Thursday with Second Degree Murder for the death of her cousin Rachel Le.

Kenner police say on a stormy April 13, workers at a Jefferson Parish pump station in Kenner found Le’s body caught in the pump station’s trash rake.

An autopsy revealed Le died 24-hours before her body entered the drainage canal. Le’s toxicology also revealed she had consumed LSD, Methamphetamine, Heroin, and Fentanyl.

Investigators say prior to the discovery of Le’s body in the canal, Le was last seen at the Wallace’s home.

Wallace’s home is approximately three blocks from the pumping station and across the street from the pumping station canal authorities say.

Investigators say based on witness accounts Le and Wallace, who are cousins, allegedly consumed LSD, Heroin, and Methamphetamine that prior night.

Heroin and Methamphetamine were allegedly located in Wallace’s bedroom during the execution of a search warrant.

Investigators say Wallace later admitted to police and a witness that she gave Le the illegal narcotics that night including LSD, Methamphetamine, and Heroin found in her toxicology report.

As to how Le’s body ended up in the canal is still under investigation.
