New Orleans Police are figuring out how to proceed with their investigation into a riders in the Krewe of Carrollton removed from a float amid accusations they were pelting police officers with throws.

Legal analyst Doug Sunseri says because all the riders wear masks, and identical costumes, identifying just who on the float was throwing too hard isn't going to be easy.

"I think identification and intent are the two things,” Sunseri explained. "That presents a lot of evidentiary problems to prove it to the extent of beyond a reasonable doubt.”

Sunder said krewes are also have some protection in cases of civil liability by city ordinance.

However, he said carnival krewes can very easily kick members out if they think they're a problem.
