The Zurich Classic is currently underway at the TPC Louisiana in Avondale. The well-known golf tournament has become an institution over the years, drawing big names to the area with all proceeds going to charity foundations.
The Fore Kids Foundation puts on the Zurich Classic with the goal of helping children in the Louisiana community who need it most. The event regularly draws big names and big crowds and the foundation has distributed over $55 million to various charities since its inception.
Steve Worthy is CEO of the Fore Kids Foundation and Tournament Director for the Zurich Classic. He says last year, the Fore Kids Foundation raised a record $3.6 million for children’s healthcare, education, and more. He hopes to exceed that amount this year.
While tickets are limited for the tournament this weekend, they are still available. “The Best of the Zurich Classic tickets are still available on a limited basis,” Worthy notes, adding that it includes 14 restaurants and has been very well received. “There is some walk-on availability on Sunday and certainly there are grounds tickets,” he went on to add.
