After posting on a message board app that there was going to be an active shooter on the LSU campus, a student is facing felony charges.

The student, 18-year-old Dominic Elick Moore, used the message board app Yik Yak to post, "there's about be an active shooter in the 459 at 6:30." The 459 is an LSU dining hall.

The post was brought to the attention of LSUPD on Monday evening, and officers tracked down the number associated with the account on the anonymous message board, WBRZ reported.

Police found the person who owned the phone. They claimed that Moore had used his number to create the Yik Yak account after Moore's number had been banned from the platform; authorities confirmed this with Yik Yak.

Moore was then connected to the dining hall during the timeframe after police reviewed surveillance footage and campus ID swipes to enter the building.

Moore was arrested and faces one count of terrorizing, a felony charge.

LSUPD then assured the LSU community that the situation was under control and there was nothing to be alarmed about.
