Vice President Kamala Harris has agreed to sit down for an interview with CNN, the first of her presidential campaign, though she will also be joined by her vice presidential pick, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz.

The interview is set to take place on Thursday and comes more than five weeks after she first launched her campaign, CNN reported.

The decision to withhold an interview until now, along with the fact she has not held any press conferences, has left her heavily scrutinized by her opponents on the right and some within her own party.

“I think it’s really disgraceful, both for Kamala Harris, but also for a lot of the American media that participates in this stuff, to have a person who has been the presumptive nominee of the Democrat Party for 17 days and refuses to take a single question from the American media,” Vance said in Wisconsin earlier this month about her lack of interviews.

The interview will come one week after Harris officially accepted the Democratic nomination, finalizing the ticket for this November when she faces off against former President Donald Trump and Ohio Sen. JD Vance.

Harris’s team responded to the criticism over her lack of media appearances, to which they said she would also do an interview with another national outlet by the end of the month.

The interview will be run by CNN’s Dana Bash and air at 9 p.m. EST on Thursday.

Harris is also scheduled to face off in her first debate with Trump early next month, though her team has declined to accept more debates until after the first is completed.
