Florida cops are holding woman from Ponchatoula without bond today after her weekend arrest for allegedly kidnapping her sons from their father's home last week.
Shawntel Nicole Heck is in the Santa Rosa County jail awaiting extradition to Louisiana.
She is being held on a warrant from Tangipahoa Parish.
Cops say her husband left the children in the car in his driveway, when Heck stole the vehicle and took the boys to Florida.
"The victim advised deputies that he pulled into his driveway shortly after 3:00 p.m., with his two children secured in their car seats, stopped the car, got out, ran into his shed to grab a tool, and by the time he returned, the vehicle and his children were gone," TPSO's Dawn Panepinto said in a news release.
They were found unharmed after an Amber Alert went out.
"As a result of the media coverage, a concerned citizen in the Florida area contacted local authorities and gave a possible location of the female and children," Panepinto explained. "The Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office responded to the reported location and subsequently located the children who are now in protective custody."
At the time Shawntel Heck remained at large. TPSO released an image of Heck and asked for help finding her.
Two days later cops arrested her.
