Jeff Landry has picked up a major endorsement in his quest to be elected governor of Louisiana: an endorsement from former President Donald Trump.
In a Landry campaign ad, the former president says that Landry, currently Louisiana's attorney general, "wants to stop crime. He loves the people of Louisiana just like I do."
Landry has already been endorsed by the former president's son, Donald Trump Jr., who attended Landry's annual alligator hunt in 2022.
Landry has long supported Trump, signing on to the former president's legal challenges of his 2020 presidential election loss, and filing a friend-of-the-court brief in Trump's favor regarding the former president's legal issues surrounding his handling of classified material.
