A rehearsal for the inauguration that was scheduled for Sunday has been bumped to Monday over security concerns, Politico reported Thursday night, citing two sources.

The postponement comes as President-elect Joe Biden's team enlists Lisa Monaco, a former Homeland Security adviser in the Obama administration, to advise them on inauguration security.

Biden's team also scrapped plans for him to travel on Amtrak to the nation's capital on Monday and on inauguration day because of security concerns.

Homeland Security officials are warning about an uptick in threats in Washington around the inauguration. The FBI has also warned of armed protests at the 50 state capitols this weekend.

The presidential inaugural committee, the Secret Service and the Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies have not commented.
