NEW YORK (1010 WINS) -- Don't believe the hype: President Trump and first lady Melania Trump do indeed live together, contrary to reports that have claimed otherwise.
So says the president, who told supporters at a Reading, Pennsylvania rally Saturday that the fact that both he and the first lady tested positive for COVID-19 earlier this month proves they are co-habitating.
"Our great first lady tested positive. At least those rumors that we don’t live together turned out to be false, " the president told the crowd, who laughed and applauded.
Then mimicking that he was reading a gossip item, he said, "She lives in a house someplace in Virginia."
"No, no, she lives with me and she tested," Trump said. "I said that's the only good thing about her testing positive."
In "Free Melania: The Unauthorized Biography," CNN White House correspendent Kate Bennett wrote that the president sleeps in the master bedroom on the second level of the White House residence while the first lady stays on the third floor in a two-room suite.
And in 2018, the Washington Post reported about Beltway buzz that the first lady in another home in D.C. with the couple's son.
At the time, her spokeswoman Stephanie Grisham, said, "We laugh at it all the time." And White House social secretary Rickie Niceta Lloyd called the rumor "an urban legend."
