Bad Bunny is a superstar rapper who has been selected by the NFL to be the halftime show at the Super Bowl next February. Bad Bunny is Puerto Rican and sings most of his songs in Spanish - as a result, there are many NFL fans who are criticizing the league for the pick.

Bad Bunny has drawn a lot of criticism from MAGA supporters because of the artist’s criticism of President Trump.  Bad Bunny cancelled his tour of the United States over fear that ICE agents would raid his concerts and arrest many concert-goers.

It’s natural for all of us to want the Super Bowl halftime show to appeal to our taste in music, and no matter who is selected there will always be many who will not be happy with the selection.  Every group of people deserves the halftime show to reflect their taste in music, but it would be impossible to make everyone happy.

Selecting Bad Bunny, who has global appeal among Spanish-speaking individuals, is obviously part of Roger Goodell’s efforts to inspire interest in the NFL around the world and to work toward increasing the sale of NFL merchandise globally.

Latinos make up the fastest growing fan base for the NFL - up 11% in the past year.   Seventy percent of Latinos say they are NFL fans and there are about 40 million Latinos in the United States.
There’s no doubt that many Americans will not watch much of the Super Bowl halftime show, but I’m sure many will take a sneak peak so they can talk about how they hated it the next day at the office or among their group of friends.

Many in America and around the world will love seeing Bad Bunny at the halftime show and will feel like he is a bond with their love for the NFL.  And the Americans who don’t like Bad Bunny can use that time to go to the bathroom, make a drink, or try the dip - as long as they don’t double-dip.
