The Archdiocese of New Orleans is facing a criminal investigation into not only sex abuse of young boys, but also sex trafficking.
Lead investigator Scott Rodrigue testified under oath that his team discovered long pattern of sexual abuse and alleges that officials with the archdiocese covered up the abuse and failed to report it to the authorities.
These allegations against the Catholic Church are not new, but on his talk show today Scoot bashed the church and anyone who aided in the church hiding information about sexual crimes committed by Catholic priests.
In his passionate comments about the church, Scoot pointed out the importance of calling out and condemning the pedophile priest in order to protect all priests. "If you don't call out the bad priests, then all priests are considered bad and we know that is not the case," Scoot commented.
Scoot questioned the true commitment to the church by those who helped the church protect its image by assisting in the process of not releasing any negative information about priests who were involved in having sex with young boys.
