Scoot: Who's the real FAKE NEWS after New Orleans terror attack?

The border crisis had nothing to do with this, but good lucking trying to convince MAGA leaders that

All the criticism that comes from American citizens when an artist uses their stage to promote their political views is rendered meaningless when those same American citizens do the same thing.

Wednesday morning, hours after the tragic terror attack on Bourbon Street in the French Quarter of New Orleans that left 14 dead and over 30 injured, Fox News reported that the suspect in the terrorist attack had driven the truck he used as a weapon across the border at Eagle Pass, TX “two days ago,” giving viewers the unmistakable impression that the terrorist was an illegal immigrant.  Just 8 minutes after the Fox News report, president-elect Donald Trump issued a statement saying, “When I said that the criminals coming in are far worse than  the criminals we have in our country, that statement was constantly refuted by Democrats and the Fake News Media, but it turned out to be true.”

Donald Trump, Jr. posted a report saying, “Biden’s parting gift to
America - migrant terrorists.”

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene posted shortly after the Fox News report, “New Orleans terrorist attacker is said to have come across the border in Eagle Pass TWO DAYS AGO!!!  Shut the border down!!!”

Appearing on Fox News, Speaker of the House Mike Johnson, said that Republicans have been warning about “the idea that dangerous people were coming here in droves and setting up potentially terrorist cells around the country.”

Those were a few of the comments spread about the Bourbon Street terrorist being an illegal immigrant.  Here’s the problem:  the original Fox News report was totally false.  Fox News recklessly aired a false report to feed their audience with information it did not confirm that proved to be 100% wrong.  Fox News did admit the report was fake, but that didn’t stop MAGA supporters and Trump’s political allies from continuing to spread the original false information about the terrorist - who was a U.S. citizen and an Army veteran.

As we enter the New Year of 2025 it is obvious that nothing has changed regarding the truth.  To say that Fox News, Donald Trump, Don Jr., Marjorie Taylor Greene, Speaker Johnson and many others were irresponsible and wrong is a nice way of saying that they all willingly used the horrific tragedy in New Orleans to promote their political agenda.  This is a stark reminder that 2025 begins the way 2024 ended - the truth is meaningless when it comes to the selfish promotion of one’s political views.

Senator John Kennedy seemed to selfishly use a press conference to promote himself as the savior of the truth and that he, and he alone, would fight to make sure the truth about the attack is revealed.  Kennedy took a cheap shot at the media to make himself appear to also be the savior who will save Americans from the renegade press.  Kennedy made a weird comment about other major U.S. cities that face a direct threat from terrorists, but Kennedy refused to say which cities and said, “I can’t answer that - I can, but  I won’t.”

Fox News hosts Jessica Tarlov and Jeanine Pirro got into an argument over comments that the terrorist was an illegal immigrant with Tarlov correcting Pirro, who said that no one is saying he was illegal.  Tarlov slammed Pirro with “That’s not true!  There have been Republicans who have been on TV today talking about how this was an open border problem.”  Tarlov was right - Pirro was pathetically following Trump and Fox News’ false reporting.

Another serious problem we have in America is that the act of speaking the truth is considered biased, considered bashing Trump when he is lying.  The TRUTH is - and there’s no dispute here - the Bourbon Street terrorist was an American citizen and an Army veteran, which proves that not all American citizens or all military veterans are good people.

And with the obvious spreading of fake news by Fox News and then by Trump and his allies - it’s very hypocritical for any of them to depict the MSM as the Fake News Media when they perfectly fit the definition of the Fake News Media with the reporting about the Bourbon Street terrorist being an illegal immigrant.

Welcome to 2025!  At least we will have the opportunity to reveal the truth.
