Despite the deadline to return toTexas having passed, no “libtards” were arrested. “Libtards” is the simple-minded, or ignorant, label given to Democrats by right-wingers who have been taught that Democrats are the root of all evil in America.
Many Texas Democrats left the state which prevented the Texas Legislature from having a vote on gerrymandering in what seems like a desperate effort to gain Republican votes for the midterm elections next year. Perhaps sensing his current negative impact on the U.S. economy and low approval numbers, President Trump directed the state of Texas to redraw the political maps to find more Republican voters. That is Trump’s way of saying that he is scared that Republicans will have a serious problem in the midterm elections.
Both Republicans and Democrats try to redraw political maps in an effort to cheat their way to gaining more voters in certain districts. I disagree with either party gerrymandering districts. It is a cheap admission that your message is not enough to win votes, therefore, you have to redraw the maps to change the make up of the district.
While both parties do it, it is unprecedented for a president to demand that a state gerrymander the maps before the scheduled time for that every ten years. That’s why Trump seems scared his impact on America might lead to losing control of Congress next year, which would be a true nightmare for the president.
