Scoot: PETA gone wild!!!

The advocacy group - PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) - has always stood up against the mistreatment of animals. At times, PETA goes to extremes to promote the ethical treatment of all animals. Last year, the organization said that calling your dog, cat or household animal a “pet” was degrading to the animals.

Well, PETA is now warning people against “speciesism” - the practice of one species promoting that it is superior to other species.

The use of animal names as derogatory terms for humans is nothing more than animal-related insults that are actually “harmful” to the animals.

The activist group is telling us that to call someone a “chicken” - meaning a coward - is hurting animals. Have you ever called or referred to someone as a “pig” - as a way of saying they are a slob? What about using the word “rat” to describe someone who snitches on another person?

In my opinion, PETA is distorting their original mission of promoting the kind and proper treatment of animals to another ridiculous level. Is the person who is dishonest no longer a “snake?” Can we no longer refer to a lazy person as a “sloth?” What about the man who cheats on his wife - can we no longer call him a “dog?”

Think of all the words we should ban as descriptive words for individuals:

Wolf = a man who aggressively hits on women.

Parrot = a person who repeats what another person says, often without thought.

Mole = an inside informer.

Ostrich = a person who is blind to reality.

Batsh** = a crazy person.

PETA immediately drew criticism from people who think it is absurd. One person tweeted: “6 years vegan, please stop making us look ridiculous.” Another tweet read: “Animals aren’t oppressed by those words because they don’t understand our language. And have no concept of words and their meaning.”

I can only attribute this lunacy of no longer using animal names to describe people as PETA’s desperate attempt to remain relevant. I wonder how many dogs and cats have run to hide under the bed when the person who cares for them (their owner) refers to another person as a “chicken,” “rat,” “snake,” “dog,” or said that someone is “batsh** crazy?”

Sometimes I think animals deserve better than PETA!
