There was a time when an average of eight hundred new cases would've had us gasping.
But in this unrelenting third surge of COVID-19, a two day count of just 1,600+ is welcomed.
According to the Louisiana Department of Health, there are 1,196 patients in hospitals with 125 of them on ventilators.
Over the last two days, 16 people have succumb to the virus bringing the total to 6,407.
In Orleans Parish, 321 new cases were reported on Saturday with 117 new cases on Friday.
One new death was also recorded.
