HAMMOND, La. (AP) — Shows will go on at a historic Louisiana theater despite damage from Hurricane Ida.
The Columbia Theatre in Hammond is converting its conference center into a venue for entertainment while repairs are made. The Hammond Daily Star reports that the conference center was in a largely undamaged part of the building.
The smaller space will allow at least some entertainment. A production of “House on Haunted Hill” will open at the end of the month. Some large-scale live shows won’t be performed at the 1920s-era theater while repairs are made.
The Star reports that the Hammond Ballet Nutcracker has to find a new home, at least temporarily.
