An inmate at the Louisiana State Penitentiary at Angola is dead after a fight with another inmate in his cell Saturday night, according to the Department of Corrections.
The Advocate reports, a joint investigation between the West Feliciana Parish Sheriff's Office and the Department of Corrections is underway.
The DOC says about 11:45 p.m. Saturday night a corrections officer making their routine rounds spotted the fight.
The other inmate involved in the fight is now in isolation the DOC said.
