Rain will be sticking around the New Orleans area for at least another day or so, as precipitation chances increase towards the end of Mother's Day and into Monday.
Heavy downpours are possible, but we will have dry periods in between the showers. Your best bet is to keep your umbrella and/or poncho handy just in case you find yourself in the middle of one of these showers. There's a 40- to 50- percent chance of rain over the next couple of days, with warm, humid conditions persisting until the rain finally leaves the region late Monday.
Once conditions clear, we'll experience milder, dryer conditions. Tuesday will be breezy, but that breeze subsides by Wednesday. By the end of the week, temperatures will peak in the mid- to upper-80s. Daily minimum temperatures will fall into the upper 60s all week long.
