The Louisiana Department of Health appealed to public that "now is not the time to let your guard down."
The call for vigilance came as state reported 2,565 new COVID-19 cases over the past two days.
Though this roughly averages 1,200 plus each day, the count is still substantially higher than it has been in the past.
Friday's numbers totaled 3,450 for the highest one day spike since July 27th when more than 3,800 were recorded.
The latest data also registered 11 new deaths, 753 people hospitalized with 58 patients on ventilators.
