For the first time, COVID-19 hospitalizations in Louisiana have fallen below 400.

The Louisiana Department of Health reports today that hospitalizations fell 15, to 399. It is the first time patient levels fell that low. The last time the state had this many COVID-19 hospitalizations was in the early days of the pandemic, when hospitalizations were soaring by the hundreds each day.

The state reports just 203 new cases today, on 10,535 tests, coming in under two percent positive. However, the state says a technical issue kept some lab data from being processed in time, and it will be included in the next report. The state reports a total of 439,737 confirmed and probable coronavirus cases.

Another fourteen COVID-19 patients have died, bringing the total of confirmed and probable deaths to 9,988.
