The number of hospitalized COVID-19 patients in Louisiana has hit a new low.
245 people are hospitalized statewide for COVID-19, according to today's report from the Louisiana Department of Health. The previous record was 267. The first report from LDH on COVID hospitalizations, made March 24 2020, was 271.
New cases continue to hold steady -- 683 on 20,722 new tests, or about 3.2 percent positive. Five more people have died from COVID-19.
Just over 34 percent of Louisiana residents have received all their COVID-19 shots, 1,566,120 total.
1,726,785, or about 37.5 percent, have received at least one coronavirus shot, and that makes each one of them eligible to register for Louisiana's "Shot at a million" giveaway next month.
