COVID-19 hospitalizations in Louisiana have come down quite a bit in the last few days -- after a 71-patient drop reported over the weekend, the Louisiana Department of Health today reports another drop, down 36, at a total of 1,894. That is 175 fewer patients since the peak of 2,069 reported Friday, January 8.
The state reports 961 new cases today on 10,465 new tests, for a percent-positivity a little over nine percent.
Another 50 deaths today brings the total to 8,253 lives lost in Louisiana to the pandemic.
