Louisiana lawmakers are in the mood to override a veto. Enough lawmakers have voted to trigger an override session of Governor John Bel Edwards' veto of the legislature's proposed U.S. House districts in Louisiana fore the next decade.

LaPolitics.com publisher Jeremy Alford says even if the override attempts fails, it’s doubtful Republicans will send new a congressional district map to the governor that has an additional majority-Black voting district.

"It's hard to see the legislature sending the governor anything that's dramatically different than what was already sent," said Alford. "Which is why, more than likely, this issue ends up in the courts."

The session is expected to begin at noon on Wednesday.
