In supporting country music superstar Garth Brooks' decision to support the LGBTQ community by announcing he will serve Bud Light in his new bar, country artist Tyler Farr said, "I think more people should mind their own damn business, to be completely honest… the world would be a hell of a lot better place."
During an interview with Fox News Digital to promote his newest single, "Rednecks Like Me," Farr expressed his support for Garth Brooks, and said the whole controversy over Bud Light reaching out to trans influencer and TikTok star Dylan Mulvaney comes from a society that has been "just full of silly sh**."
The country music star said, "Why are we using beer cans to make a statement? I don't care if you're a guy and want to be a girl. If you're a girl and want to be a guy. If you're homosexual… I do not care. I do what I do, and people do what they do. And as long as they don't try to push it on my family, my kid, and affect their own God-given decisions, then I don't have a problem with it."
And to those who will make the point that they - the LGBTQ community - is trying to push their lifestyles on your family and your kids - no one is coming to your door. No one is abducting your children. If you don't want your kids to see a drag queen read a story, then don't take them - but no one is forcing anyone to go.
The most profound point Farr made was about people minding their own business. We live in a society where too many people want to tell you how to lead your life - even when it comes to what beer to drink.
Texas Governor Greg Abbott has embarrassed himself again by posting fake news on social media. Gov. Abbott was quick to tweet support for a story about Garth Brooks being booed off the stage because of his support of Bud Light but the story was totally and obviously false, and Abbott was forced to - again - delete a tweet inspired by his political emotions rather than the truth.
On the show today, I mentioned that I don't understand why so many people care if trans people - or if anyone - drinks Bud Light. They are not drinking out of your can or bottle - so why should it matter what beer they drink? We have disintegrated into a society where people don't want you to lead your life - they want you to live their life and share their views. What happened to the concept of America?
Following is a stanza from Tyler Farr's new single, "Rednecks Like Me."
I'm red, white and blue
How about you?
Country to the bone
From my hat down to my boots
It's in my roots to take a stand
'Cause freedom isn't free
Take a look around and you'll see
There's a lot more rednecks like me.”
Why can't we act more like Americans and mind our own damn business and allow people to be who they are?
