Tropical depression Beta is languishing slowly over southeast Texas languidly on its way to Louisiana with scattering storms and showers across the New Orleans region.
WWL-TV Meteorologist Dave Nussbaum says some of the storms could be strong with a few tornadoes, gusty winds and heavy rain.
Along with the rain there will be minor street flooding.
Temperatures are warming and humidity is on the rise.
Highs will be in the mid-80’s.

Beta finally drifts away on Friday and the weekend will bring dry air ahead of a cold front(!).
That means morning showers and storms and dry afternoons with sun and clouds in the mix.
Temps will be warm and humid with highs in the mid-80s.
For the weekend, humid air returns with an upper level disturbance over the weekend meaning more spotty showers and storms.
Warm and humid to kick off the week with rainstorms expected Monday and Tuesday and a cold front moving across the region. Highs 80s, lows 70s starting off the week, then cooling down Wednesday through Friday.
